Q-switched lasers

Picosecond lasers compress the pulse to trillionths of a second. The shorter pulse shifts the effect toward a photomechanical (pressure) action, which can fracture ink into smaller particles and may help with stubborn or multi-colored tattoos. Shorter pulses also mean energy is delivered before heat spreads to surrounding tissue.
